OUR OWNERS & INSTRUCTORS

MATT WILSON

3rd Degree Black Belt In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

CO-OWNER / HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Matt Wilson began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2008, just days after his 24th birthday.

Introduced to the sport by friends who trained, he quickly became hooked—training every day, sometimes twice a day, and earning his first cauliflower ear within three weeks - that's when he knew he was in it for life.

In 2013, while a brown belt, Matt moved to Conroe for work and continued training 5–6 days a week.

The following year, he achieved the rank of black belt and by 2015, Matt had started his own gym out of his garage, which quickly grew into a 1,700-square-foot academy.

Today, he serves as Co-Owner and Head Coach of Rogue Jiu Jitsu Academy.

While proud of his personal journey, Matt considers one of his greatest accomplishments to be awarding black belts to his own students—a legacy he continues to build every day.

JUSTIN OVERSTREET

Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

CO-OWNER / MARKETING & OUTREACH DIRECTOR

Justin Overstreet began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2013 after being challenged by his youngest daughter, who was just 8 years old and already competing at the time.

That first class opened his eyes to just how effective Jiu Jitsu could be at neutralizing a threat. He was hooked and hasn't stopped training since.

In 2018, Justin and his family moved to Conroe, TX, where he began training with Matt Wilson as a blue belt. Under Matt’s guidance, he progressed through the ranks, earning his purple belt in 2019, his brown belt in 2023 and, in July 2025, his black belt.

Today, Justin continues to train consistently and shares his passion through teaching and coaching, helping others experience the benefits and life-changing impact of Jiu Jitsu.
